The 24th ACNH in Hong Kong was from November 25 to 17, 2024. The meeting point for the weekend was none other than the world-famous Wanchai Bar Area, packed with bar options for every taste, and of course, a convenient Seven-Eleven right on the corner for those last-minute snacks or drinks. Perfect location for everyone to kick off the weekend!
The hotel rooms? Well, let’s just say they were a bit snug for the Mainland Hashers, but hey, as long as the bed fits, right? We made it work, even if we had to cozy up a bit.
A fun surprise for the Mainland-based non-Chinese Hashers came when they discovered that Alipay and WeChat Pay weren’t exactly accepted everywhere—talk about feeling like they’d been transported back to the Stone Age, fumbling with good ol’ physical cash. It was a reminder of how fast technology is evolving!
The main event took us to the New Territories, right near Shenzhen, offering several trail options and separate circles, which made sure everyone had a chance to enjoy the adventure, no matter their level of experience. The scenery? Stunning, as always. But as you’d expect, things didn’t go completely according to plan—nothing ever does!
One of the highlights was Guitarded Spitler performing his iconic Nash Hash Song at the Wanker’s Trail. He promised a clean recording would be coming soon—so why are we still waiting? The song was legendary, and we even got the lyrics in a PDF, just in case anyone wanted to sing along at home. ACNH2024 Song
Then there was the dinner bash, where Red Zeppelin took to the stage. And of course, there were the inevitable power cuts—three to be exact. But no worries, the crowd was so loud and into it that they practically carried the songs forward with their own voices, and the acoustic drums just added to the magic. The energy was palpable and totally unforgettable.
The Hangover Run that followed was a comedy of errors. The markings were absolutely brilliant… or were they? You can’t mark the trail wrong if there are no markings to begin with! It was pure confusion, but that just added to the fun.
As for the Rusty Man winner? Well, let’s be honest—we were all a bit too drunk to remember who took home the crown. Wasn’t it a Shenzhen Hasher? We’ll just call it a mystery for now.
And just to wrap it up, let’s take a moment to appreciate the global nature of the event. We had 340 attendees, from 31 different countries, and 84 different Kennels represented! That’s a whole lot of diverse energy and hashing spirit packed into one incredible weekend.
What a time it was!
