The event had to be postponed to 4 to 6 of November, 2022 due to a massive COVID infection wave, but despite all the challenges, we still managed to turn it into an unforgettable experience. The ones who managed to come had to get creative, with some even pulling off some serious “Sneak Outta Shanghai” missions. Master Wanker and Stink Bomb, we’re looking at you for those covert moves!
Even though the attendance was only half of what we usually expect, the energy was as high as ever. It was fantastic to meet up with old friends, share laughs, and enjoy the moments. There were some hiccups along the way—flights were canceled, rerouted, and delayed, but after what felt like an endless list of travel options, Socradeez Nuts finally made it in the nick of time. We weren’t sure if it was Saturday night or Sunday late into the run, but hey, better late than never! We still got the party started as soon as he walked through the door.
The warm-up run had a unique twist, with participants sporting LED bunny ears—talk about lighting up the trail! From there, we took on the rugged, mountainous main trail, complete with rocks and steep climbs, but the views from the top made it all worth it. If there’s one thing you can count on, it’s that nature always delivers its beauty, no matter how challenging the trail.
For those brave enough, we then tackled the Hangover Run and Rusty Man event, which took us around the stunning Jinji Lake and past the iconic Pants Building (yes, the one with the cool name, also known as the Gate of the Orient). The location was just as picturesque as we remember, providing the perfect backdrop for some seriously fun and slightly hazy moments.
And let’s not forget Guitarded Spitler, who proudly showed off his Suzhou Nash Hash tattoo in front of the Pants Building. Stink Bomb managed to snap a picture of this epic moment, so if it gets out there, we’re cool with it—no secrets here. In fact, there’s even a draft photo in the folder for anyone who wants to take a peek.
And last but definitely not least, a huge congratulations to the winners of Rusty Man: Strap On Suds and Find My i-Bush. Your determination and good vibes made the competition fierce, but in the end, you two earned your victory!
It may not have been the event we originally planned, but it sure was one for the books. From travel chaos to running through beautiful landscapes, we made the most of every moment. Here’s hoping that next time, there will be less sneaking and more partying—cheers to the next one!
